Food, travel

Day four in Bangalore.

We got off to a rough start this morning after not sleeping very well and an incredibly disappointing breakfast.

We were heading to Bangalore for the weekend to spend some time with my dad after he has just opened a new store here! .. Where to begin ey? Mumbai domestic airport is a nightmare.. It’s immaculate but the people are rude, have no manners or respect for anyone and generally do not make life easier. Mum and I grabbed a coffee in a little cafe, where mum had to take hers back twice because it was so disgusting. My croissant tasted like cardboard!

The flight was great! We flew IndiGo airlines and the stewardesses were lovely, they had inflight snacks and drinks which were pretty cheap too.. I got a cute cookie tin!

Dad surprised us by meeting us at the airport! How wonderful that was.. We went straight to the Oberoi Hotel for some lunch.. It was absolutely mouthwatering.. Everything was so full of flavours, not oily and served really hot.

We had a wander around the garden once we had finished our food as it was filled with beautiful flowers, a variety of butterflies dipping between the leaves and a few singing birds as well. I really didn’t want to leave, it was definitely a piece of paradise.

Dad took us to his store to have a look around and he’s done such a great job! It’s awesome. I’m so proud of him!

We had a rest at the hotel which we are staying at, called the Adarsh Hamilton and we each had a glass of wine in the room … It was a St Urbanshoff Rielsing.. Beauuuutiful!

We had loads of different salads, breads, a welcome drink of lychee and blackcurrant juice, followed by rice, makai sag (sweet corn and spinach), vilati gobi (baby potatoes and broccoli) and paneera (Indian cheese) in a tomato an onion gravy. The chef made me special bread – pasanda – of coconut and fruits.. It was deeeelicious!! And it cost £19 for 3 of us..

I am now incredibly full, sitting in my lovely hotel room writing my diary and having a cup of green tea. It’s been so wonderful seeing my dad again! x
